I'm still a newbie in this field hence doesn't know much on adding AI to FSX.
Anyway, as I was decompiling the trafficaircraft.bgl in ttools, an error popup stating "ERROR: Unable to read from file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery\trafficAircraft.bgl", please can anyone help me, I wish to see how my new airbase I made would look like with AI flying.

Unfortunately, Traffic tools is only able to decompile FS9 traffic bgls. FSX traffic files contain additional data which it is unable to process. (You probably could have guessed this just from the greater age of the TTools program itself).

If you want to be able to compile 'proper' FSX-format traffic, you need the Scenery Developer's Kit (SDK) but you only get that with the DeLuxe edition of FSX and it's too late since you've already spent your money.

The conventional method for getting custom traffic into FSX involves scrapping the default traffic file (Orbit, Landmark etc) completely, then using TTools to compile FS9-style traffic.bgl files, which will work in FSX.

However, these need to be processed with the FS9 to FSX flightplan converter which makes them fly on the right days of the week and adjusts for ICAO airport code differences between FS9 and FSX.

Full documentation for TTools can only be found in "ttool202.zip" at avsim, et al.

Instructions are located in :-

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\Traffic Toolbox.html

Presumably, masochism isn't your thing, so what you really need is a 'front end' program which does all this stuff in the background.

The advice in my earlier post, about the FS9 to FSX converter turned out to be out of date. Read the thread I've linked to here (I only read it yesterday) but only download the most recent attachment (currently on post #22).
